Emphasis is placed on British Values to ensure our older children are equipped with the knowledge and tools to thrive in our society. Encouraging the children’s autonomy helps to develop their sense of self-worth.
As they progress through the school, through PSHE, RE and cross-curricular work, we teach our children how society is organised and governed. We ensure that they experience the process of democracy and demonstrate a mature, respectful and sensitive appreciation of what it means to be a positive member of a diverse, multi-cultural society.
Pupil Voice is central to our ethos: our Pupil Voice groups lead activities and take an active roll in Collective Worship. Children in KS2 have the opportunity to take on additional responsibilities through the School Council and groups such as Editorial, Road Safety and Munchies (healthy eating group). They are an asset to our school, supporting charities and keeping children safe and healthy.
