Additional Information
How can I find out about my child’s progress?
There are parents’ consultation evenings during terms 2 and 4.
A full written report is sent to parents at the end of the summer term. This report informs parents of
their child’s progress, achievement and effort, and there is an opportunity to discuss this in term 6.
If there is anything that you wish to discuss about your child, in the first instance please speak to the
class teacher.
School Closure and Remote Learning
There may be an occasion when the weather is so severe, e.g. very heavy snowfall, that for the health and safety of pupils and staff, the school will be closed. This is likely to be a very rare event. When exceptionally severe weather conditions are forecast for the whole authority and the Police recommend that only essential journeys should be made, the Head and the Chair of Governors may make the decision to close the school.
The school will communicate with the parents to advise if the school is to be closed.
For updates and information regarding the closure and any further closure days, parents will be asked to:
- Check the school website
- Listen to the local radio stations
- Follow us X / Facebook
When the school is closed, work will be set via our usual communication channels (currently Parentmail).
How can I help in the School?
Charging for School Activities
When organising school trips or visits which enrich the curriculum and educational experience of the children, the
school invites parents to contribute to the cost of the trip. All contributions are voluntary. If we do not receive
sufficient voluntary contributions, we may need to cancel a trip.
Accident insurance
Insurance companies offer personal accident cover for children 24 hours per day. If you wish to take out cover for your
child, you are advised to consult your insurance broker.
